IIIT-H to equip school students with computational skills

March 29, 2014 11:49 pm | Updated June 22, 2016 12:40 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The IIIT Hyderabad has launched summer programmes for school children to inculcate the process of computational thinking at an early age. The programmes, intended for students from classes five to ten, will equip young minds with fundamental computational skills that are increasingly pertinent in today’s world.

These programmes are based on the premise that whatever career the student chooses to pursue later in life, computational thinking will be an essential element. The curriculum will help build logic, problem solving and analytical skills through theoretical as well as hands-on sessions. The deadline for application to the programmes is April 9. For more information, visit ‘www.iiit.ac.in/step’ or contact 040-6653 1524 between 11 am and 3 pm on working days.
