The city police have decided to probe the case pertaining to alleged rape of a dancer from Mumbai on the intervening night of December 31, 2013 and January 1, 2014 here, a senior police official confirmed. “We are not bothered about the jurisdictional problem. After receiving the FIR copy from the Mumbai police who registered the case, we will began our investigation,” the official said. The sleuths of the Central Crime Station are likely to take up the investigation.

Four persons took the woman to an undisclosed place in the city after she landed from Mumbai at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad and sexually assaulted her, the official said.

The CC cameras installed at the Shamshabad airport could be crucial for the investigators to identify the persons, who accompanied the woman from the airport. The dancer was brought to the city to perform in connection with the New Year celebrations.
