The recently concluded Hyderabad Literary Festival-2015 (HLF) ended up a notch higher this season in a country where 60-odd lit fests are organised annually.
The three-day fest registered a footfall of more than 10,000, almost 50 per cent more than the last season. The scale of the event, guest line-up, venue and the arrangements were impressive compared to the last four editions.
According to the organisers, the event this time had many firsts. To start with, about six venues of the HLF were branded in return for cash.
There were 20 major sponsors who pitched in the form of cash or kind.
The Hyderabad Public School (HPS) at Begumpet, which is a landmark of the city, with its heritage structures and unique rock formations formed the perfect backdrop of the fest this edition. A large number of nattily dressed volunteers in light coloured suits also caught the eye of the many. “I am convinced that we will be in the top five lit fests conducted in the country,” informed Ajay Gandhi, co-director, HLF.
