Heat wave to continue

Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail across the State over the next 24 hours, the Indian Meteorological Department warned on Monday.

Light to moderate rain along with thundershowers was also predicted. The sky turned overcast during late afternoon in most parts of the State due to significant but isolated clouding over the region. The IMD said no rainfall was recorded but thunderstorm events like lighting were witnessed. Two people, one in Chevella and another Shamshabad, were killed by lightning on Monday.

Hyderabad recorded a maximum temperature of 41 degree Celsius, with overcast skies threatening rain in the evening. Ramagundam in Karimnagar recorded a sizzling 46.5 degree Celsius, witnessing heat wave conditions. Khammam recorded 44.4 degree Celsius.
