HC seeks counter on selection fraud

Justice A. Rajasekhar Reddy of Hyderabad High Court asked the Telangana government to file counter affidavit in a writ petition filed complaining that fraud had taken place in appointments of teachers made by selection committee of Warangal district.

The judge was dealing with a writ filed by K. Venu Goud and four others from Warangal district complaining of large scale irregularities and fraud in selections for the post of Secondary Grade Teacher made under DSC-1998 and sought a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into it. They filed a copy of inquiry report. One candidate who got 0 marks in written exam was called for interview and she was selected as a teacher, the petitioners averred. The report was available since 2014 but no action was taken. The case was adjourned by three weeks.
