On World Heritage Day, the Hyderabad High Court came to the rescue of heritage buildings in the City and declared that without permission of the court, no notified heritage building shall be demolished.A division bench of Hyderabad High Court comprising Acting Chief Justice Deli B. Bhosale and Justice P. Naveen Rao on Monday was making this declaration. The bench was dealing with PILs filed by Forum for a Better Hyderabad and another. The petitioners complained that the Heritage Regulation which protected the Heritage structures and precincts in Hyderabad for last 25 years was unilaterally withdrawn and if this is permitted there shall be no heritage building left for the city. The government said that this regulation is not in consistence with the main act and hence with drawn and new regulations are being framed. The bench felt that till new regulations to preserve the Heritage structures is framed the buildings need to be protected. The case is adjourned to June after the summer vacation. Meanwhile no notified heritage structure can be demolished or altered without the permission of the court.
