Grand reception awaits Vice-President

Chief Secretary S.P. Singh has directed the officials concerned to make elaborate arrangements for the civic reception of the Vice-President elect M. Venkaiah Naidu, who will be visiting the city on August 21.

A grand welcome awaits the Vice-President who is scheduled to arrive at Begumpet airport on August 21, in the morning. He would directly proceed to Raj Bhavan from there. The Chief Secretary reviewed the arrangements being made after Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao announced his decision to accord civic reception to Mr. Naidu.

Mr. Singh asked the officials to deploy adequate security and ensure maintenance of traffic, in addition to maintaining sanitation and cleanliness along with repairing the damages to the roads on which the visiting dignitary is expected to travel. Uninterrupted power supply was mandatory and teams of health department, fire services etc. should be kept ready during the visit, he said. Fire Services DG Rajiv Ratan, Principal secretaries Adhar Sinha and Sunil Sharma, and Intelligence IG M.K. Singh were present.
