The government has served notices to farmers, whose lands would get submerged under proposed Kondapochamma reservoir, who had neither signed documents and under Land Acquisition Act – 2016 or approached the court.
The notices were served on Friday on some 16 farmers of Thanedarpally, Bahilampur and Mamidyala asking them to present themselves with ownership documents at the panchayat office on October 16th. The notice informed them that Gajwel RDO would discuss with them about the land acquisition and demands of the farmers would be examined and discussed.
“The below mentioned land of 811.24 acres under Bahilampur village in Mulugu mandal was required for public purpose for the construction of Kondapochamma reservoir. Primary notification was issued on November 17, 2016. Out of this, 720.07 acres was already acquired through voluntary sale by farmers under Telangana Land Acquisition Act – 2016 (Act 21 of 2017) under Section 30 A. Another notification was issued on September 10, 2017, for the remaining 91.17 acres land. Those farmers or their relatives who were mentioned in the above survey numbers may present themselves with all the relevant documents and can put forth their demands like compensation and land dimensions,” said the notice served on one Bayyannagari Sanjeeva Reddy of Bailampur.
“Here the land price is anywhere between ₹20 lakh and ₹25 lakh. How can we sell our land for half the price?” asked B. Hari Mohan Reddy, son of Sanjeeva Reddy.
