Govt. hospitals get new bedsheets

About 60,000 pieces being given to all government hospitals

The supply of bedsheets to all government hospitals was taken up across the State on Monday with several ministers handing over the pink and white coloured linen to hospital authorities at various places.

Minister for Health C. Laxma Reddy, who launched the supply in Area Hospital at Siddipet along with Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao, said about 60,000 bedsheets were being handed over to all government hospitals so that the bedsheets were changed as per the given schedule and both patients, their attendants and visitors could notice it easily.

“Changing bedsheets according to the schedule will not only help in maintaining proper hygiene but also reduce the chances of infection to the patients and others”, the Minister said adding that the government was also improving, infrastructure including medical equipment, in the hospitals.

Dr. Laxma Reddy also handed over the bedsheets in Godavarikhani Area Hospital later in the day. Speaking there, he said recruitment of doctors and other paramedical staff was in progress and the hospitals would soon have more number of doctors.

At Nirmal Area Hospital, Minister for Housing and Endowments A. Indrakaran Reddy handed over the bedsheets to the authorities and told the hospital staff to change the linen regularly.

In Hyderabad, Minister for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development T. Srinivas Yadav visited Gandhi Hospital and handed over the bedsheets to the authorities.
