Some of the demands of the farmers who pooled land for the Uppal Bhagat layout developed by Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) were accepted on Monday.
The Telangana Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, KT Rama Rao said that the government will bear the registration costs of the plots allotted to the farmers. Speaking at a programme organised at Geological Survey of India (GSI), the Minister said that ₹35 crore needed to fulfil this demand will be allotted to HMDA. Mr. Rao said that unlike the previous governments, they ensured that farmers interests are taken care of.
30 plots
The other demand of the farmers is to make changes to 30 plots which were not Vaastu compliant.
The Minister instructed the HMDA officials to make the necessary changes to the plots as per the wishes of the farmers. However, Mr. Rao sought time to respond to the third demand which is to bring plots owned by farmers in to the multiple zone. He said that the officials will look in to the matter and take the right decision. He appealed to the farmers in the state to cooperate with the government in land pooling for the development of the region.
A mini ‘Shilparamam’ is being planned by the HMDA at Uppal. Apart from that, the Minister also said that they want to construct a convention hall at a cost of around ₹50 crore and appealed to the farmers to be a part of the project by volunteering for land pooling.
