The State Government is according top priority to the education of Muslim minorities and the community should take advantage of the spree of schemes launched in this regard.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said the State Government had established 204 residential schools exclusively to cater to the educational needs of minorities. He was speaking at a meeting organised in connection with laying of foundation stone for Anees-ul-Gurbha, a complex to house an orphanage for Muslims, at Nampally here on Sunday.
The ₹20 crore complex will also provide education to orphaned Muslim children, beside giving them shelter. The Chief Minister stressed the need for putting in place all the facilities required at the new complex of Anees-ul-Gurbha, which is close to 100 years.
The institution had been running in the city since 1921 providing shelter to 60 persons. It however had to forego 191 sq.yds due to the recent expansion and road widening works. The government had allotted 4,000 sq.yds as compensation and gave ₹20 crore for the construction of the new complex.
Designs had been prepared for a seven storey building with a plinth area of about 1.53 lakhs of square feet. The first two floors of the new complex would be used for commercial purposes and the remaining five to shelter orphan children. The complex was designed with provision to give shelter to 500 persons, in addition to a school.
Those studying from first class to graduation courses could get shelter in the new complex.
