The city’s civic body will use a new-age tool to monitor all engineering activities and projects and prevent irregularities. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has come out with a web-based solution, also available as a mobile App, called Task Electronic Assessment and Monitoring (TEAM).
The product will automate all the activities right from inception to completion of any work, including project estimation, procurement, work order, quality control, bills and payments. The approvals at various stages of the work can be given online by the GHMC officers concerned.
One of the main objectives of the tool is the proper implementation of the projects which was achieved in the pilot project.
The solution was put to use in Uppal Circle on trial basis.
Since the officials could get accustomed to using the tool with ease, the GHMC has decided to implement it in all circles for maintenance works as well as projects. The tool will be introduced in the next 45 days.
Some of the advantages of the system include avoiding middlemen and making online payments to the contractors besides lowering the costs.
Apart from achieving transparency and accountability, the tool is also expected to save time of implementation of the project.
