The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has vowed to solve the problem with water-logging during a downpour at the Chief Minister’s camp office, Lake View Guest House and Maitrivanam (Ameerpet) in the next few says by laying bigger underground pipelines to ensure the excess water drains out sooner.
Commissioner Somesh Kumar is personally monitoring the works in the quest for finding a permanent solution to the problem by rectifying the road profile and also forming appropriate sidedrains to clear the drain water more effectively.
A sum of Rs.4.13 crore has been sanctioned and works are being grounded, a press release said.
Arrangements for countingThe GHMC Commissioner, who is also a District Election Officer, informed that elaborate arrangements for counting to the two parliamentary and 15 Assembly constituencies with barricading at the counting center for polling agents and political parties at each counting center.
Work inspectionsMr. Kumar also inspected some of the strong rooms at Polytechnic College Masabtank, Nizam College, LB Nagar Stadium and explained that three officials will be sitting on each counting table. A dozen tables are being arranged in each centre.
There will be around 36 rounds of counting and each round would be around 20 minutes.
There will be another training class to the micro-observers on Monday and was confident all the counting centres will be ready by May 14.
