GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar on checking the progress of the recently introduced e-office on Tuesday, directed all the zonal and deputy commissioners to clear 60 per cent of the building permissions by the month-end and complete all pending files pertaining to these permissions and occupancy certificates by December 10.
He asked GHMC Special Commissioner Ahmed Babu to personally interact with the heads of the departments and others so that they can adopt the e-office facility without any difficulty and ensure that the concept is implemented by the civic body.
Since January 2010, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has received a total of 47,778 building permission applications of which approval was accorded to 38,364, and 2,544 were returned. While 5,603 applications were rejected, another 1,268 have been pending.
At the same time, the civic body also approved 4,606 Occupancy certificates (OC) of a total of 7,312 applications received, while rejecting 1,079, returning 1,174 and keeping 453 pending.
Mr. Somesh Kumar later interacted with officials concerned on other issues such as setting up green curtain with trees and plants on major city roads and development of lakes and graveyards.
