GHMC staff equipped to face monsoon

Commisioners across the zones reshuffled

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to provide raincoats to sanitation and entomology workers for emergencies during monsoon.

The decision has been taken as per the directions of the Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K.T. Rama Rao said GHMC Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy on Friday.

Around 22,000 outsourced employees are working in the municipal corporation comprising 18,382 for sanitation, 2514 in entomology and drivers. Rain coats are being provided along with radium jackets, soaps, and coconut oil.

GHMC commissioner issued orders aiming at reshuffling of zonal commissioners and 30 odd deputy commissioners in various municipal circles and demanded immediate compliance orders from the latter.

Central Zonal Commissioner D. Harichandana has been moved to the West Zone.

Incumbent West Zone Commissioner B. V. Gangadhar Reddy has been shifted to the East Zone.

East Zone Commissioner C.N. Raghu Prasad has been moved to Greater Hyderabad Central Zone. North Zone Commissioner J. Shankaraiah has been moved to the head office as Additional Commissioner (Advt & Revenue).

The new Hyderabad North Zone Commissioner will be E.D. Vijay Raju, formerly Regional Director - cum -Appellete Commissioner of Municipal Administration.
