It was friend-turned-foe Khaiser and his aides who killed Gore Mohammed in Amberpet four days ago, police said on Tuesday.
Khaiser and his four accomplices, who were caught by the Commissioner’s Task Force (South), admitted to the killing. Once members of the same gang, Khaiser and Gore Mohammed were allegedly involved in several murders, attempt to murders, robberies and dacoities in and around the city.
After differences cropped up between them, Khaiser shifted to Madannapet a few years ago.
The accused nursed a grudge against Mohammed after the latter made false confessions to the police of Khaiser’s complicity in several criminal cases in which he was booked.
Meanwhile, one Rabbani sought his intervention in settling a land dispute in Ramanthapur. Since Mohamm-ed was backing the other party, Khaiser saw opportunity for revenge.
Mohammed was lured to a function hall near the PVNR Expressway on Friday. While he was en route to Amberpet on a two-wheeler, along with his accomplice Mahmood, Khaiser and his men stalked them in a Tata Sumo. When the duo reached a traffic signal, they jumped out of the vehicle and hacked Mohammed to death.
The TF (South) team led by Inspector K.V. Surya Prakash Rao nabbed the accused.
