The All India Forum for Small and Medium Industries wants the State Level Bankers Committee to be convened for discussing issues concerning revival of the MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) sector in Telangana.

On Thursday, the Forum convenors K. Koteswara Rao and M.Prabhakara Rao met Santanu Mukherjee, managing director of State Bank of Hyderabad, the lead bank of Telangana, and submitted a representation.

The Forum, in a press release, alleged that the banks were not implementing RBI guidelines on restructuring, rehabilitation and revival of MSME accounts. It blamed the banks for declaring MSME accounts as sick/NPA and initiating action under the SARFAESI Act.

Mr. Mukherjee assured that the SLBC meeting would be convened.
