January 03, 2011 03:37 pm | Updated October 13, 2016 05:04 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

A Tanzanian student was found dead in his rented flat here at Surya Homes of Gollaguda in Alwal on Sunday.

Decomposed body

Twenty five-year-old Shakir Hamdun was pursuing Bachelor of Computer Applications course at the Osmania University Post-Graduate College of Science, Saifabad. On a complaint lodged by neighbours that foul smell was emanating from his flat, the Alwal police broke open the doors and found his decomposed body.

No suicide note

Nothing suspicious was found inside. Though there was no suicide note, tablets used for treating acidity were found, Sub-Inspector Rajashekhar, said.

According to him, the decomposed condition of the body suggested that Shakir died four to five days ago.

Neighbours told the police that he was last seen on December 26.

A case of suspicious death under section 174 of Criminal Procedure Code was registered.
