Breast cancer survivors, their parents take part in Pink Ribbon Walk

Tollywood actor Tamannah flagged off the 2K Pink Ribbon Walk along with Dharini, a 24-year-old breast cancer survivor, here on Sunday.

The Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation of KIMS Hospital had organised the ninth edition of the Pink Ribbon Walk in the city in which a few thousand people participated.

Among those who participated in the event were breast cancer survivors, their parents, students and interested youngsters.

Early detection

The objective of the Pink Ribbon Walk is to creating awareness on the importance of early detection of breast cancer.

In India, over 1.50 lakh are diagnosed with breast cancer every year.

Breast cancer has overtaken cervical cancer to become the most common cancer affecting women.
