Five-year-old boy bitten by snake

It was understood to have crept into his school bag at home

Five-year-old Kandula Vivek was bitten by a snake when he opened his school bag at the Government Primary School in Donkal village of Indalwai mandal in Nizamabad district on Monday.

According to reports reaching here, after a two-day holiday, Vivek came to the school. As the class was in progress, the boy put his right hand into the bag to take out a book when the snake bit him. The snake was understood to have slithered into the bag when it was kept in the house. Writhing in pain, the boy screamed drawing the attention of the class teacher. The teacher, with the help of others, killed the snake. Vivek was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Nizamabad. The student was said to be stable and recuperating.
