Five duplex houses in West Mareddpally, declared unauthorised, were demolished by Secunderabad Cantonment Board on Tuesday.

SCB officials claim the five houses in Boosareddyguda were built without permission. They claim the builder had sought permission to build four houses in that area, but had built ten. Demolition was taken up after a court petition to regularise the constructions did not yield relief. SCB, in one of its recent board meetings, resolved that the buildings are unauthorised and be demolished. Officials said more demolitions are underway this week as part of crackdown on illegal structures in cantonment.
