Farewell to music director ‘Sri’

The last rites of music composer Kommineni Srinivasa Chakravarthy (49), popularly called Sri, were performed here on Sunday. He had succumbed to a kidney-related ailment and breathed his last on Saturday. He is survived his wife and son Rajesh Chakravarthy.

Early career

A graduate in industrial engineering from Manipal University, Sri started his career as a singer and was lead anchor for a Gemini television show Anthyakshari that was a big hit in the year 1995.

Debuting as music composer with the film Police Brothers in 1993, he scored music for several hit films including Gaayam , Money , Money, Money , Sindhuram , Ammoru and the enormously popular Little Soldiers .

Second innings

After a gap, Sri began his second innings in the Telugu film industry with Chantigadu in 2003 and followed it up with Neeke Manasichchanu , Kaasi , Sahasam and Aadu Magadra Bujji . His last project was Chandamama Lo Amrutham . As a singer, he is best remembered for the song Jagamanta Kutumbam Naadi .
