EPFO: 70 candidates await appointment orders

May 07, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:40 am IST - HYDERABAD:

More than 70 applicants, who applied for the posts of Social Security Assistant at the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation’s Tamil Nadu region, have claimed that they have been waiting to get appointed from over a year, and despite being selected as final candidates for the SC category.

“We have been running from pillar to post in New Delhi and Chennai to find out about our appointments, but they have been asking us to wait from January 2014, when our names were selected in the final list,” claimed Srinivas, a native of Adilabad, while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday. He and the other applicants said that 73 of them from Telangana and AP were selected for the SC category.

A female applicant also stated that many of them are worried that the delay may lead to a loss of service, age and other benefits if the same situation prevails. “We have even visited Union Minister for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya, but to no avail,” she claimed.
