June 12, 2013 01:47 am | Updated November 16, 2021 08:45 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Counselling for engineering admissions will start anytime between June 20 and 25 and the notification will be released a week ahead of the counselling session.

The admissions committee meeting held on Tuesday discussed the dates and decided to wait for the Admission and Fee Regulation Committee (AFRC) recommendations on the fee structure before finalising the exact date.

“We are hopeful of starting the counselling before June 26,” said Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) K. Jayaprakash Rao.

Fee yet to be finalised

He said fee fixation is yet to be finalised. Hearing on the fee proposals submitted by engineering colleges is over while hearing for pharmacy courses is on.

“It is expected to be completed soon. The chartered accountants will go through the proposals for a few days and the proposals will be sent to the Government before the counselling,” Prof. Rao said.

He said that 14 new counselling centres had been added this year taking the total number to 67.

“Our effort is to start the classes by August 1,” Prof. Rao said.
