Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman M. Kodandaram said that a public meeting of unemployed youth to be organised by the committee at Saroornagar on Monday will be unique in several ways.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Mr. Kodandaram said the meeting from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. was aimed to make the resolution of unemployment problem an agenda item of all political parties. The Congress, BJP, Telugu Desam, CPI, CPI (M), CPI-ML (New Democracy) and people’s organisations were invited for the meeting.

Except the dais, Mr. Kodandaram said all other arrangements for the meeting were over. Students of colleges and coaching centres will be mobilised. The meeting will have cultural programmes identified with Telangana. A ‘democracy wall’ with graffiti by students will come up. A food court will also be set up.

He accused the government of lacking clarity on the jobs created so far. The JAC estimated the vacancies in jobs at three lakhs.

Separately, the TRS MLA Palla Rajeswara Reddy blamed Mr. Kodandaram for carrying out a disinformation campaign on jobs. He recalled that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had committed in the Assembly to fill up 1.12 lakh vacancies. The government had already created 27,000 jobs and another 63,000 vacancies were in various stages of being filled up.
