Central team visits Mahabubnagar

A Central team that visited Mahabubnagar district on Monday and Tuesday on an inspection of the proposed eco-tourism circuit has reportedly expressed satisfaction over the logistics planned for tourists.

The team comprising Additional Director-General, Ministry of Tourism, Bharati Sharma and Vaibhav Prakash, an associate went around different locations in the district including Somasila, Singotam, Akkamaha Devi Caves, Umamaheshwaram temple, Farahabad, Mallelatheertham and Egalapenta that comprise the eco-tourism circuit being planned.

The State Government’s proposal seeking a grant of Rs. 107 crore for having the infrastructure in place at the different locations of the eco-tourism circuit, under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme, is said to be in the final stages.

After the two-day field inspection, the team held a detailed meeting with Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Chairman of the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) Pervaram Ramulu, Secretary B. Venkatesham, Managing Director-TSTDC, Christina Z. Chongthu. At the department the State Government’s representatives underscored the importance of developing the circuit and urged speedy sanction of the proposal.
