ECIL signs pact with German institute

The Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) on Monday signed a tripartite contract with Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR), Germany, and Bose Institute.

The contract was signed at the ECIL office here Prof. Oliver Kester, Head of All Accelerator Boards, FAIR, T.K Ghorui of Bose Institute and P. Sudhakar, Chairman and Managing Director of ECIL.

Prof. K. Vijayraghavan, Secretary, Dept of Science and Technology, witnessed the signing of the contract through video conferencing facility.

Senior dignitaries from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Bose Institute (BI), FAIR, Germany, Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC) and ECIL participated.

The contract for manufacturing about 600 converters is valued at 9 million Euros.

Biggest contract

It is the biggest contract being executed by ECIL for supply of electronic equipment to a foreign country.

The equipment will be supplied over the next four years.

The power converters produce stable magnetic fields in the super conducting magnets.
