Telugu music lovers have a brand new destination to flock to. To bring the latest music, movies and fresh talent, a new online radio ‘Dubai Telugu Radio’ (DTR) will be launched soon. The radio’s website ‘www.dubaiteluguradio.com’ was launched at a function here on Thursday and online radio will be launched in October.
The website was launched in presence of singers Chandra Bose, M.M. Sri Lekha, Raghu Kunche and Pardhu Nemani, among others. “DTR will try to bring all Telugus residing in Gulf countries on to one platform and will act as a bridge between them,” CEO of DTR, Arja Prasad, said.
Telugus residing there can now share the problems they are facing on DTR website and the same will be forwarded to Indian and Gulf authorities for resolution, he said. To encourage the talented singers among the community, DTR is also sponsoring a new web-based initiative ‘Gulf Telugu Idol’ (www.gulfteluguidol.com).
Online registration
People residing in the region can now register themselves online for the contest. They will have to submit their complete profile along with a YouTube link with a video of their performance. The shortlisted candidates have to go through online auditions and semi-finals will be held at Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar.
The grand finale of the contest will be held at Dubai in second week of October where the DTR online radio will be formally launched by transmitting the event live.
