Driver electrocuted

A 25-year-old car driver, Srinivas, who tried to rescue his friend, died after he came in contact with a snapped high-tension wire at his house in Rasoolpura under Begumpet police station limits on Sunday night.

However, his friend Venkat suffered burns.

According to the police, Srinivas and Venkat had a quarrel over a trivial issue and in a fit of rage Venkat went to the terrace and jumped from it by holding a high-tension wire which snapped and fell on Srinivas who was staying on the ground floor resulting in serious burns.

Death was instant for Srinivas.

Residents rushed Venkat to Gandhi Hospital where his condition is serious.
