I wish the development is decentralised, instead of being limited to Hyderabad and a few towns. People should be mentored in scientific and systematic farming and industries, and sensitised about sanitation and waste management. Farmers should be motivated to adopt crop planning based on the region’s climate. Cold storage facilities should be provided. Micro, small village industries and enterprises should be encouraged. Projects and activities requiring disproportionate investment should be discouraged.

Attend to water woes
The CM should pay attention to water problems. Government should provide only potable water, and let the residents fend for themselves for their other water needs. Water harvesting should be made mandatory.

Save pedestrians
I request our newly elected CM to solve the traffic problems in our city, especially keeping in view the plight of pedestrians. As new roads are laid and expanded, there are no footpaths on these roads. It seems roads are made only for motorists. Even then, bicycles - the common man’s vehicle - are neglected. Foot over bridges are needed, not flyovers.

Disabled-friendly RTC
I want the CM to ensure that all RTC buses are made disabled-friendly. The government should work out an affordable fare structure so that people will stop using private bus services, share-autos etc., to reach their destinations. All over Telangana, proper bus bays should be constructed with better bus shelters. The government should also ask MLAs, MLCs and MPs to allocate sufficient funds from their LAD Funds for the construction of the same in their constituencies.

Throw open Begumpet airport
Having an airport of international standards in the centre of a city is a rare blessing. We had this honour since the Nizam days. This was closed down by a political decision devoid of any sensible reason and taken to nearly 30 km from the city. The Chief Minister should reopen the airport at least for domestic air travel and allied operations.

Govt. servants should use public facilities
I want the government to amend existing rules to make it mandatory for government servants to use government schools and hospitals. While they were once popular, their conditions deteriorated after the private sector made inroads. Nowadays, they are meant only for the poor.
Such an initiative would trigger a chain of changes in many other aspects of governance. Government employees have no right to run public facilities inefficiently, even while using private ones for themselves.
