The Congress continued its attack on Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for the second day objecting to the words he chose to criticise the Congress leaders. It said it would continue to obstruct and question any undemocratic decision of the government.

Former Minister M. Shashidhar Reddy and former MP V. Hanumantha Rao, who spoke to the media separately, accused the Chief Minister of misleading the people by launching a false propaganda against the Congress for questioning his undemocratic decisions and misgovernance.

Mr. Shashidhar Reddy challenged the CM for an open debate on the re-designing of the projects if he was confident of his decisions.

“People will laugh at the CM’s statement that he would tour the State to expose the Opposition parties,” he said and warned that people themselves would confront him on his election promises that were yet to be fulfilled. Mr. Reddy said KCR’s rule exposed his inefficiencies and people would definitely approach the courts when their interests were harmed. It was for the government to safeguard their interests, he reminded. Criticising the decision to construct a new Secretariat on Bison Polo Grounds, he said such buildings were not constructed for leaving one’s mark behind, but for the needs of the people.

Mr. Hanumantha Rao said he would personally visit all the villages expected to be toured by the Chief Minister soon and explain the facts to people. He said Congress would definitely oppose the construction of the new Secretariat. “Why does he need a new Secretariat when the present one is not being used,” he asked.

He questioned as to why the Chief Minister was not meeting people to understand their problems. Mr. Rao said the CM doesn’t meet people, but meets China Jeeyar Swamy regularly, while gives appointments only to receive wedding cards.

Mr. Rao was also harsh on the police for penalising people indiscriminately. A motorist in Amberpet was penalised ₹3,000 for wrong parking, he mentioned, asking how can a common man pay such a huge fine.
