Commissioner directs officials to expedite works

GHMC Commissioner M. T. Krishna Babu has directed the Engineering Department officials to quickly complete the repair works of several road stretches in the AP State capital. In a midnight inspection drive, the Commissioner along with other senior GHMC officers visited several parts of the city to inspect road repairs works, a GHMC press release said.

He visited Fever Hospital, Nallakunta, Indira Gandhi statue, Necklace Road and areas from Basheerbagh to Liberty. GHMC officials have started the re-carpeting works of roads that were damaged due to monsoons at important stretches in the city, he said. Construction activity on the road from Liberty to Osmania University, taken up at a cost of Rs.8 crore, will be completed in another week, Mr. Krishna Babu said.

On Friday, a meeting of Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain, Commissioner M.T. Krishna Babu and other senior officials was held to review property tax collection and arrangements related to Dasara, Bakrid and Diwali. The Mayor directed GHMC officials to take up maintenance works of Ramleela grounds for the upcoming festival of Dasara.
