The district headquarters town will witness a makeover upon completion of work for underground drainage, sewage treatment plants, roads, dividers and Mission Bhagiratha, said Nizamabad Urban MLA Bigala Ganesh Gupta. The work would draw to an end by July 25 this year, he said.
Addressing mediapersons on Saturday, Mr. Gupta said a meat market at a cost of ₹6 crore would be constructed at Ahmedi Bazar in the first phase and there is one more planned for the second phase. The Rajiv Gandhi Auditorium would also be modernised.
He thanked the government for releasing an additional ₹100 crore in the third instalment. He added that beautification of junctions, crematorium development, municipal building work, road repairs and new road laying works were undertaken at Dubba, Pragathinagar, Varni Chowrasta, Arsapally, etc.
He said Ali Sagar remains the major source of drinking water and under Mission Bhagiratha, a new pipeline has been laid from Sriramsagar Project to Tilak Garden here to help citizens tide over water scarcity woes, if any.
