Mohd. Attar Rahman (16), a class X student hanged himself to death at Langar Houz on Tuesday night, the police said. The teenager resorted to the extreme step after his parents admonished him for not concentrating on his studies, they added.
Woman ends life
In a separate caseAyesha Begum (26) hanged herself to death at her house on Tuesday night. The woman was married to Aslam, a car mechanic four years ago. Relatives of the woman told the police that her husband and in-laws used to frequently harass. The police registered a case under section 498-A (Husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 306 (abetment of suicide) of IPC against Aslam.
Sets herself ablaze
In another case at Kamatipura, Singi Reddy Shyamala (20), a resident of Devi Bagh set herself ablaze on Wednesday, the police said. She died at Osmania General Hospital while undergoing treatment. Reasons behind her suicide were being ascertained, police said.
Man beaten to death
Workers of a sanitary shop and locals beat a 35-year-old man to death at Shivarampally, accusing him of attempting to steal articles from a shop, the police said on Wednesday.
Aravind, a labourer from Doodhbowli, sneaked inside the shop by jumping over the barbed wire fencing late on Tuesday night. “He was caught by residents who tied him to a pole and thrashed him,” Rajendranagar SI V. Madan Lal said.
When Aravind suffered a bout of seizure, they let him off. He walked out of the shop and collapsed on the ground. He died some time later. A case of murder has been registered.
Car rams tree, 2 die
Two persons died after the car in which they were travelling rammed a tree at Masjidpur under Shamirpet police station limits on Tuesday. The victims were identified as Lingaiah (46) and Narayana (74), both natives of Jagtial in Karimnagar district.
