City cardiologist’s innovation feted in Paris

A procedure involving the reconstruction of the heart aorta and stenting on a patient that was carried out by cardiologist Sridhar Kasturi of the Sunshine Heart Institute here has received the second-best ‘Clinical Case Award’ at ‘EuroPCR 2014’, a cardiac forum held in Paris recently, a statement from Sunshine Hospitals said.

Hospital officials on Friday said Dr. Kasturi had delivered three oral presentations at the heart conference, which had attracted 12,257 cardiologists from 60 countries. His case study was also retained by the official selection committee of the conference as one of the three best submissions.

Dr. Kasturi’s case was titled Aortoplasty with Stenting of Long Segment Total Occlusion of Descending Thoracic Aorta and Abdominal Aorta in Takayasu Aortitis with Computed Tomography-Angiography Follow-up .
