The Holy Trinity Church at Chikoti gardens in Begumpet is at the receiving end of the fury of the monsoon. Due to the overflowing of Prakash Nagar and Allamthotabhaavi nalas , the church compound is flooded with water up to a height of three feet whenever it rains.

This is causing inconvenience to those who visit the church as they are forced to pray near the gate. The stench is also unbearable. This has been the case since the last three years.

The GHMC had brought out proposals for converting these drains around the church into concrete ones in the past. Funds were also allotted for the purpose and work began in 2011. But the implementation is very slow. As of now, only half the work has been completed. The GHMC staff had come to pump out rainwater but due to the failure of the generator, they could not clear it. We hope that the new government of Telangana helps us find a permanent solution to our problem.
