Cabinet panel okays special fund for archakas’ salaries

To seek govt. aid for the fund through Grant-in-aid

The Cabinet sub Committee on Endowments has agreed to pay salaries to Archakas and temple employees through a special fund.

The Cabinet sub-committee chaired by Endowments Minister Indrakaran Reddy and attended by Ministers Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Thummala Nageswara Rao , Jupally Krishna Rao and Thalasani Srinivasa Yadav and Government Advisor Ramana Chary resolved to credit the salaries into the accounts of archakas and temple staff through the special corpus fund.

The Committee said that they would also seek government assistance for the special fund through the Grant-in-aid.

Temple lands

The committee proposed to constitute a committee headed by District Collector and with District Registrar (Stamps and Registration), Superintending Engineer (R&B), Municipal Commissioner and other department officers to recommend steps for protecting temple lands. It was also proposed to issue pattadar pass books in the name of the temple to prevent encroachments.

Mr. Indrakaran Reddy said that the temple employees and archakas in rural areas would get a salary of Rs.8,000 and those in urban areas, Rs.10,000 and those working on contract/NMR basis would get Rs.12,000. The wages were fixed based on work load and area and necessary amendments would be brought to the existing Acts, he said.

The Cabinet sub committee would submit its draft proposals to strengthen the endowments department along with the salaries of Archakas and temple employees as main agenda to the Chief Minister in two weeks .
