A brothel organiser from Krishnanagar in Yousufguda is believed to be involved in the abduction of the four women from Ujwala Rescue Home in Ramanthapur on Saturday, police sources suspect.
The Cyberabad police, in fact, had earlier arrested a brothel organiser, Sai, for his alleged involvement in a sex racket at Kukatpally and rescued the four women.
The women were later shifted to the same rescue home at Ramanthapur. After getting released on bail, he might have been maintaining phone contact with one of the four women hailing from Mumbai, police sources said.
The police are investigating whether Sai had hatched a plan to abduct her along with three friends and accordingly, drove into the rescue home on Saturday morning and forcibly took away the women after threatening the security guard.
Police sources also said that some unidentified persons had made another unsuccessful kidnap attempt in June last. The gang came to abduct a girl but had to beat a hasty retreat after she raised an alarm. Police are also suspecting the role of Antony Smith from Maharashtra as he is said to be a relative of one of the women. “We are trying to collect more details of the inmates,” a police official said. He ruled out the role of an inter-State gang in the kidnap case.
