‘Bhagiratha work at brisk pace’

Trial run for providing potable bulk water to 370 habitations under the Palair segment and 460 habitations under the Wyra segment as part of the first phase of Mission Bhagiratha in the undivided Khammam district will be held on January 20 and 25 respectively, Vice-Chairman Telangana Drinking Water Supply Corporation Limited (TDWSCL) V. Prashanth Reddy said.

Works on the Dummugudem (Godavari) segment will be completed expeditiously to provide protected drinking water to 1480 habitations in 20 mandals in the district through taps well before the set time-frame, he said while speaking to newsmen after inspecting the works on the water treatment plant, overhead tank and other components of the Mission Bhagiratha at Rathamgutta in Aswapuram mandal on Saturday.

He said that the works on the Mission Bhagiratha, the massive drinking water project taken up at a cost of ₹ 42,000 crore, were progressing at a brisk pace across the State. Minister for Roads and Buildings T Nageswara Rao, Special Secretary in Chief Minister’s Office Smita Sabharwal and others were present.
