The distribution of fish prasadam is expected to close on June 9 at 9 a.m.

Bathini fish prasadam would be distributed at Nampally Exhibition Grounds on June 8 from 9.30 a.m. The distribution is expected to close on June 9 at 9 a.m.

All arrangements for prasadam distribution has been done with the aid of the State government, said members of the Bathini family at a media conference here on Thursday.

“We are ready to provide the prasadam to all people who come to us. Arrangements have been made to provide food and shelter too,” said Bathini Harinath Goud. Badri Vishal Pannalal Pitti Trust and Agarwal Seva Dal would provide food for the needy at the Exhibition Grounds, while Goud Hostels located at Himayathnagar is expected to provide accommodation. On the occasion, the Bathini family members – Bathini Shivanand, Bathini Shivprasad, Gowri Shankar, Amarnath Ajay, Bathini Santhosh and Bathini Vardhan – announced this year’s schedule.

The prasadam that was popular till a decade ago with lakhs of people flocking to Hyderabad to have it, is witnessing dwindling popularity as its medical value is questioned by social reformists and scientists.

The government’s Fisheries Department has, however, been supporting the prasadam distribution by allotting the Exhibition Grounds for the purpose.
