The officials of Agriculture Department handed over the data of farmers of another 671 villages to the bankers given the responsibility of printing cheques for the disbursement of investment support under Rythu Bandhu scheme here on Tuesday.

At a meeting, Principal Secretary (Agriculture) C. Parthasarathi stated that the data handed over on Tuesday belonged to the villages in Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts. He told the bankers that the data in cheques printed — farmer’s name, investment support amount and others — should not vary from the data given by the Agriculture Department. He also suggested the bankers to upload the cheque number wise details of disbursement and the amount disbursed every day once the programme gets underway on May 10. The bankers had so far been given data of 54.15 lakh farmers in 10,490 villages so far and 30 lakh cheques were already sent to mandals and kept safely in the police stations.
