The city police on Thursday rescued a newborn baby girl who was found in a dustbin at Vasavinagar community hall under Kharkhana police station limits. A sweeper of Secunderabad Cantonment Board was cleaning roads in the colony when she heard the cries of a baby from the nearby dustbin. She then peeped into it and found the baby wrapped in a cloth. Stray dogs and pigs gathered around the dust bin and before the animals could attack her, she and the colony residents informed the police who rushed to the spot and shifted the baby to Niloufer Hospital. The baby’s condition is stable, the police said.
