Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy will undertake a helicopter tour across the State to review the preparedness for the field level implementation of the prestigious Rythu Bandhu Life Insurance Scheme to be launched on August 15.
Mr.Srinivas Reddy will start his three-day tour from Monday as directed by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Farmers Coordination Committee Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy will also participate in the review meetings along with the Minister. The awareness meetings will be held in headquarters of two erstwhile districts every day.
The following is the schedule of these meetings: June 18: Karimnagar (11 a.m.) and Adilabad (2 p.m.); June 19: Khammam (11 a.m.) and Hanmakonda (2 p.m.); June 20: Mahbubnagar (11 a.m.) and Nalgonda (2 p.m.).
All the agricultural officers from Agriculture Extension officers to District Agricultural Officers, village, mandal and district farmers coordination committee members will participate in these meetings along with district Ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other important people’s representatives. The purpose of these meetings is to explain in detail about the Rythu Bandhu life insurance scheme and how to collect details from farmers, name of nominee, etc and the precautions to be taken to send the filled in forms to the headquarters. The agriculture officers and coordination committee members will work in coordination and send the life insurance documents to the central headquarters.
The life insurance scheme will cover farmers in the age group of 18 years to 60 years and the government will bear the premium of ₹2,271 per farmer and in case of unfortunate death of any farmer, ₹5 lakh insured amount will be paid to the family of the deceased within 10 days.
The State Government entered into a MoU with the LIC on the implementation of the Rythu Bandhu Life Insurance scheme.
