An eight-year-old boy was allegedly sodomised by a 35-year-old autorickshaw driver in Mehdipatnam, police said on Sunday. The accused was arrested.
Humayun Nagar police said the incident took place in a toilet near Asifnagar filter bed in Mehdipatnam here on Wednesday. “The boy suffered severe injuries to his vital organs,” said N.L.N. Raju, inspector, Humayun Nagar.
The accused was identified as Mohammed Masood Khan, a resident of Langer Houz here. Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s parents, necessary medical tests were conducted and a case was registered.
During interrogation the accused, who was arrested on Sunday, confessed to the crime. “We have invoked Section 377 of Indian Penal Code and POCSO Act against Khan,” Mr. Raju said.
