Almanac puts Education, Health Ministers in a fix

April 09, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari and Medical and Health Minister C. Laxma Reddy had something adverse when the almanac on the occasion of official Ugadi celebration was read out by the siddhanti at Ravindra Bharati.

Bachampalli Santosh Kumar Sastry of Dharmapuri in Karimnagar district, who made the predictions on the basis of Panchangam warned that the education sector observe caution because it did not have positive tidings.

He recalled in this context Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s own observations about malpractices by professional colleges while reviewing the functioning of the sector on Thursday.

Mr. Sastry also predicted that corruption will go up in medical and health sector in the year ahead. After the almanac reading concluded, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao consoled the two Ministers who were seated on the dais not to be scared by the predictions as they only showed trends like in elections. The almanac was the guiding spirit and showed the way forward.

Mr. Rao complimented both Ministers as men of character and said they could overcome any challenge if they worked with sincerity.

Mr. Sastry said the new Telugu year held out good promises for Telangana as it commenced on Friday which was co-terminus with the planetary position of the ‘king’ (here Chief Minister). Since the Chief Minister was a leader with religious beliefs and had already performed the Ayutha Chandi Yagam, the State was assured of good governance. The Chief Minister will check suicide by farmers which was rampant last year, he predicted.

He predicted that Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao will play a major role in Central government from January and that the State will be represented in the Union. There will be good rains in the State after the setting in of monsoon was delayed up to June 21.

The agricultural production and yield of milk will be good but it was likely that milk will be adulterated.

He expressed himself against animal slaughter and the possibility of luxurious style of living by people, indulging in lavish entertainment and dinners. The police will not have much to do because law and order will be under control.
