The GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd, which operates Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here, has announced establishing connectivity with Washington Dulles International Airport in the U.S.
According to a press release issued by the GHIAL, Air India introduced its new flight AI-104 on Saturday connecting Washington with Hyderabad via Delhi with three services per week. Washington is the second city in the U.S. to be connected with Hyderabad after Chicago.
As the gateway of south and central India, the U.S. was the largest market for international travel for Hyderabad with over 6.75 lakh annual passengers, CEO of GHIAL S.G.K. Kishore said.
The new flight service would provide a hassle-free experience with passengers travelling from Washington being able to check-in their luggage through/to Hyderabad and complete immigration and customs formalities after their arrival in Hyderabad. Those travelling from Hyderabad to Washington too would enjoy similar benefits through Air India’s international connector flights from Hyderabad airport offering seamless transfers onto the Washington flight at Delhi, Mr. Kishore explained. He announced that Hyderabad airport would also get connected with Sri Lanka soon, giving an additional travel and tourism option to people.
