Adulterated food worth ₹ 8 lakh seized

The Commissioner’s Task force police personnel continued their raid on adulterated food items – mostly consumed by children – and seized commodities worth ₹ 8 lakh in Karimnagar rural police station limits on Wednesday.

Based on credible information, the task force police raided the premises of Sharwani traders in Saraswathinagar, of the rural police station limits, and recovered huge quantity of adulterated food products such as biscuits, toasts, chocolates, toasts, snacks and other food products. All the products do not have manufacturing and expiry date and were packed colourfully to attract the children. A case was registered against the owner Srinivas for not possessing any bill of the food items.

Karimnagar Rural ACP V. Tirupathi said that the traders were selling outdated and adulterated food items to the children and informed the parents to be cautious before making any purchase. Inspector Sashidhar Reddy, Task force SI Kiran, and food inspector Amruthasri were also present.
