For someone who is a blood brother of actor Ravi Teja, Bharat Raju, who himself acted in over two dozen movies, led a life rather free of the attention that one gets being in the film industry.
The last two films of his that people vaguely remember are Aa Mugguru made in 2016 and Jump Jilani of 2014.
Whenever a reference needed to be made, the media dutifully gave it, introducing him as brother of an established star. And suffice it to say that this normal ‘coverage’ apart, Bharat Raju had attracted the glare of the media for all the wrong reasons, several times.
Against such a backdrop, both the life and death of this 46-year-old man were a kind of touch and go. Relationship with close family members, sources said, was always strained, as was evident with the way the last rites were performed by his father’s younger brother Murthy Raju late on Sunday afternoon.
Eyebrows were raised at the obvious absence of the actor’s father or even his star brother Ravi Teja during the last rites. Among those from the film industry who were present were actors-producer Jeevitha, Ali and Raghu Babu. Bharat Raju had acted in Mahankali , a film made by Jeevitha but one that did live up to expectations.
