Academic Pentathlon for Inter students on Oct. 14

The Hindu and Vignan University to jointly organise the event

The Hindu and Vignan University are jointly organising the Academic Pentathlon, a scholastic competition covering five fields – mathematics quiz, physics quiz, chemistry quiz, elocution in English and fine arts (music, dance and skit) – for Intermediate students in various cities in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The regional round will be held in Hyderabad on October 14 (Saturday) at International School, Shaikpet, near Shaikpet Nala, on the Old Mumbai Highway.

Each team comprises ten students, two each for maths, physics, chemistry, English and fine arts. The top three teams with the maximum overall score in all the five fields will be awarded trophies and medals, and will qualify for the grand finale at Vignan University at Vadlamudi in Guntur.

The first prize winner gets ₹50,000 and 50% scholarship on the fee amount from Vignan University, if they seek admission.

The second and third prize winners get ₹30,000 and ₹20,000 respectively, and a scholarship of 25% on the fee amount for those seeking admission in Vignan University. The regional winners are eligible for scholarship of 10% on the fee amount.

The applicants for scholarships should obtain a minimum of 940 marks in the Intermediate examination.
