Abolish FSA and promote solar power

June 14, 2014 01:11 am | Updated 01:11 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The Chief Minister is aware of the travails of public who are paying huge electricity bills due to the FSA component imposed by previous Governments. How long this FSA will be charged, the Government must explain.

The Chief Minister must also focus on giving priority to solar power generation that can reduce power consumption generated by thermal and hydroelectric power stations.

The Chief Minister can consider giving maximum subsidy for purchase and installation of solar systems and thereby encourage the public to save electricity as well as reduce pollution. Such initiative will set an example for others.

Spare a thought for road accidents Chief Minister should give priority to road accidents.

Be it rash and negligent driving or refusal to follow road rules reasons for accidents are plenty.

The Government should stress on inculcating lane discipline, observing signals, installing sign boards in junctions and accident-prone areas. Authorities should crack down on drivers who use cell phones while driving. Vehicle owners should be made aware of the basic rights of pedestrians in Hyderabad. Measures like these will go a long way in traffic discipline.

Corruption-free Government We expect many reforms from the TRS Government led by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, especially corruption free governance. The monsoon is fast approaching and the roads are in a pathetic condition, there is no proper drinking water supply and drainage is bad. These are major problems the Chief Minister has to prioritise.

Improve sanitation in Ranga Reddy dt. The Chief Minister should urgently take steps to mitigate drinking water problems of public in areas under Ranga Reddy district like Anandbagh, Moula Ali, etc. Drinking water supply through pipelines is erratic that it comes once in 5 to 6 days.

The other casualty is hygienic condition in surrounding areas. There is nobody to check overflow of drainage even on the main roads. The Chief Minister should ask municipal officials to concentrate more on drinking water supply and cleanliness.
